Almost four years ago I read a book that I borrowed from my brother Gabriel. I had heard my brothers and cousins talking about the book for awhile but I never gave it any real thought. Honestly, from the title and the book cover I thought it was a secular book about some city kid and jazz music. I visited my brother awhile later and borrowed the book from him, he never got the book back...and he never will.
As much as I don't like saying the book changed my life, the book changed my life. It brought me into a belief that I could connect with God on a very different level than I really ever knew existed.
Now they are coming out with Blue Like Jazz the Movie. When I first heard about the movie I was scared. I was worried they would ruin the grand picture I had imagined in my mind as I read the book. I've seen the trailer and I have to admit that I am very excited to see this movie. From what I've seen, the movie look to be the same picture I imagined.
